Bogus SMS Purportedly from HKMA

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) received public enquiries about SMS purportedly from HKMA staff to follow up on matters relating to bank accounts and fund transfers. We would like to remind the public that the HKMA staff will not contact the public with regard to personal financial matters. The HKMA has referred the case to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation.

Members of the public who suspect that they have become victims of any fraudulent acts should call the Commercial and Technology Crime Hotline of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012 for follow-up actions and investigation by the Police.
