Updated sanction report

The Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research EAER has amended Annex 7 to the Regulation of 8. June 2012 on measures against Syria (RS 946.231.172.7).

On the 27th In September 2022, the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research EAER amended the list of persons, companies and entities sanctioned in this context. The WBF has therefore adapted the sanctions database SESAM (SECO Sanctions Management), which is relevant for Switzerland, and published the adaptation on its website. The change will take effect on the 28th. September 2022 at 6 p.m.


Financial intermediaries are invited, in accordance with the provisions of the regulation, to implement the prohibitions, block the assets of the sanctioned persons and report the business relationships concerned to SECO. The notification to SECO does not exempt a financial intermediary from providing additional clarifications in the event of suspicions in accordance with Art. 6 AMLA and if he cannot eliminate them, to file a notification immediately to the reporting office for money laundering in accordance with Art. 9 of the Money Laundering Act.
