Updated sanction report

The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) has amended Annex 1 to the Ordinance of 18. May 2016 on measures against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) (RS 946.231.127.6).

By decision of 26. In July 2022, the UN Security Council amended the list of persons, companies and entities sanctioned in this context. The change is directly applicable in Switzerland. SECO therefore on the 27th. July 2022 adapted the sanctions database SESAM (SECO Sanctions Management), which is relevant for Switzerland, and published the adjustment on its website.


In accordance with the provisions of the regulation, financial intermediaries are asked to implement the prohibitions, block the assets of the sanctioned persons and to report the business relationships concerned to SECO. The notification to SECO does not exempt a financial intermediary from providing additional clarifications in accordance with Art. 6 AMLA and if he cannot eliminate them, to report immediately to the reporting office for money laundering in accordance with Art. 9 of the Anti-Money Laundering Act.
