Updated Sanction Notification
The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) has amended Annex 2 to the Ordinance of 2. October 2000 on measures against persons and organizations with links to Usama bin Laden, the group “Al-Qaïda” or the Taliban (RS 946,203).
By decision of the 3rd In March 2022, the responsible UN Sanctions Committee amended the list of persons, companies and organizations sanctioned in this context. The change is directly applicable in Switzerland. SECO therefore on the 4th. March 2022, the sanction database SESAM (SECO Sanctions Management), which is decisive for Switzerland, was adapted and the adaptation was published on its website.

The group mainly operates in the provinces of Hama, Idlib and Ladhiqiyah, in the Syrian Arab Republic, and also conduct operations in Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Afghanistan, Ukraine. The number of fighters of KTJ is about 500. KTJ also cooperates with such terrorist organizations as Khatiba Imam al-Bukhari (QDe.158) and the Islamic Jihad Group (QDe.119). Now, the FINMA notice has the date of the 4th, the file has a date stamp of the 7th, and I didn’t get the email notice till yesterday…
