SECO amends 5 under Guinea sanctions

Updated sanction notification 

The Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) has published an amendment to Annex 2 of the Ordinance of February 24, 2010 on Measures against Guinea (SR 946.231.138.1).

On September 6, 2021, the EAER amended Annex 2 of the Ordinance on Measures against Guinea and adapted the SESAM (SECO Sanctions Management) database, which is relevant for Switzerland. This change will be published on its  website  and will take effect on September 7, 2021 at 6 p.m.


The financial intermediaries are requested to block the relevant assets immediately and to report such business relationships to the EAER in accordance with the provisions of the ordinance. Reporting to the EAER does not release a financial intermediary from reporting to the Money Laundering Reporting Office immediately in accordance with Art. 9 of the Anti-Money Laundering Act if the requirements are met.
