And just like that… SECO updates that Yemen listing…

Swiss authorities have now updated the following individual Yemen sanctions listed updated by the United Nations:

Justification: a) DirectorDirector, or General Manager, of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)CID), Sana’a based ministry of interior, in SanaaSana’a, Yemen b) Brigadier c) Sultan Saleh Aida Aida Zabin was designated for sanctions on 25 February 2021 pursuant to paragraphs 11 and 15 of resolution 2140 (2014) and paragraph 14 of resolution 2216 (2015), as meeting the designation criteria set out in paragraphs 17 and 18 of resolution 2140 (2014). Other information: Sultan Saleh Aida Aida Zabin has engaged in acts that threaten the peace, security and stability of Yemen, including violations of applicable international humanitarian law and human rights abuses in Yemen. Zabin has played a prominent role in a policy of intimidation and use of systematic arrest, detention, torture, sexual violence and rape against politically active women. Zabin as director for CID is directly responsible for, or by virtue of his authority responsible for, and complicit in the use of multiple places of detention including house arrest, police stations, formal prisons and detention centres and undisclosed detention centres. In these sites, women, including at least one minor, were forcibly disappeared, repeatedly interrogated, raped, tortured, denied timely medical treatment and subjected to forced labour. Zabin himself directly inflicted torture in some cases. Modifications: Listed on 2 Mar 2021, amended on 5 Apr 2021
I typically only handle the strikeouts, but decided, for fun, to also highlight the added, underlined information. Probably will only do it for really small updates like this one – I am doing this manually (cut and paste loses this stuff).
