Her Majesty's Treasury made some notable updates to their site yesterday. First, the frequently asked questions (FAQ) page was enhanced with additional sections for:
· advice for designated persons on how they may use their assets,
· advice on humanitarian transactions,
· information on what constitutes ownership and control,
· sector specific advice for financial institutions, insurers, charities and law firms
Secondly, the license application form for all country sanctions regimes other than Libya and Iran has been updated.
Lastly, the license application form for licenses under the Terrorist Financing Act 2010 has been updated for a number of technical issues (e.g. new HM Treasury email addresses, the change of name from Legal Services Commission to Legal Aid Agency), and greater clarity regarding payments to prisoners upon the end of their incarceration.
And, HMT welcomes any feedback via email! The email link is also to be used when applying for licenses under the Terrorist Financing Act 2010.
